[Ticker] EU’s climate contribution exceeds €20bn annually

EU member states' contributions to help developing countries reduce their greenhouse gas emissions have more than doubled since 2013. The total contributions amounted to €21.7bn in 2018, from €20.4bn in 2017, according to the conclusions adopted by EU finance ministers on Friday. This fund is considered an important mechanism to achieve the targets set by the climate change agreement reached in Paris in December 2015.
